GSS Executive Committee Elections

 
 
 

The Secretary and Treasurer will be elected October 1st, 2009

at the General Assembly Meeting of the GSS at 11:30am (room TBD).


Each position includes a brief description of duties. Any nominations or self-nominations should be sent to GSSElections@case.edu by September 24th, 2009. In addition to the below duties, each executive will be required to attend the monthly GSS Executive Committee meetings.


All of the positions come with unstated responsibilites such as recruiting students to participate, provide feedback, work as a member of the team of GSS Officers and Executives to carry out the agenda of the GSS, as well as be a spokeperson for graduate students.

GSS Secretary

  • Arrange for meeting facilities.

  • Maintain current GSS membership lists and attendance records at regular meetings.

  • Prepare and distribute regular GSS and Executive Committee meeting minutes.

  • Collect proxy and meeting votes and distribute vote tallies.

  • Prepare and distribute GSS meeting agendas, and other relevant meeting materials.

  • Distribute announcements and other information to Senators and the Executive Committee.

GSS Treasurer

  • Maintain excellent working relationship with the School of Graduate Studies and particularly with Linda Lapinta.

  • Create the GSS budget based on the planned income, the expenses made the previous years and what each GSS committee might require.

  • Update the financial situation of the GSS to ensure that funds are used properly and that each budget section/category does not go beyond that which was approved by the Senate.

  • Arrange for disbursement of GSS funds

  • Ordering food or supplies for GSS meetings.

  • Serve on the Student Organizations and Allocations Committee (V-Fund Committee).
