Re: Graduate Student Senate

In our Strategic Plan, Forward Thinking, the vision of our University is to "Provide students with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to become leaders in a world of rapid change and increasing interdependence." Often the focus of graduate school is performing research and scholarly activities, writing papers, making presentations and, of course, graduating!

In addition to these priorities, we would also like you as a graduate student to better prepare yourself to be a leader in your field. As an advanced degree holder, you will assume a position of leadership regardless of your career path. During your studies at Case Western Reserve University, you will surely become a master of your discipline and field. However, will you also enhance your effectiveness at leadership, including communications, team building, etc.?

One way to further your leadership skills while in graduate school is to consider service in the Graduate Student Senate (GSS). In the GSS, you will lead and collaborate with other graduate students while gaining valuable leadership and professional skills from faculty and the administration. Joining the GSS will improve your abilities for a successful career while representing your colleagues interests as graduate students.
